Te Llevo Conmigo (I Carry You with Me)

Bean plants are notorious for being able to find the sun no matter where they are planted. Throwing tendrils and stems in long sensuous curves in search of life-giving resources.

Growing up in rural Wyoming, next to the fields my family helped cultivate as generational migrant workers, I saw those pinto bean plants reach for the sun and flop onto their neighbors for support, weaving a mass of stems, leaves, and beans. I saw my family and the small Mexican community in those plants reaching for a better life outside of those fields.
